The Grit,
personality and comfort
I had long been looking for some lightweight vegan sneakers, with a personality design but sturdy and comfortable. The search ended when I found The Grit, by Wayz.
Generous sole, tucked in at the heel and near the ankle, allow confident walking with maximum comfort on any terrain. Aesthetically, they are unmistakable and look even better with shoes on.
The Grit are vegan sneakers, use high quality recycled materials, and are handmade to ensure their durability over the years.
Exterior and lining in recycled cotton
The shoe’s upper uses recycled cotton with double stitching, combined with recycled rubber for notes.
The interior has a cotton lining that is also recycled, worked in a way that lets the foot breathe. This is one of the details that allow The Grit to keep your feet cool and comfortable throughout the day.
Recycled sole
Use of 70% recycled soles from old shoes and production waste.
The color dots on the sole are small pieces of recycled rubber that were left on purpose. These points of color add a vibrant design touch and make each pair The Grit visually different from all other pairs.
Recycled insole
When you put on The Grit, you immediately notice on the sole of your foot the impeccable feel of the insole.
The choice of material is largely responsible, with a recycled PU insole (p
oliurethane
), covered with a cotton fabric finish that contributes to the high comfort of the sneakers.
The insole is removable.
Designed and produced locally
The Grit is designed in Porto, Portugal, with material and production suppliers located nearby in the region.
The Wayz brand works only with family-owned companies, with strong expertise in producing high quality footwear, whose workers are paid fairly and with good working conditions.
Laces and recycled box
The laces are sturdy, made from recycled polyester.
The sneakers come inside a recycled box, using as little material as possible.
