In the event of a consumer dispute, defined in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 144/2015, of 8 September, the consumer may resort to the competent alternative resolution of consumer disputes.

Without prejudice to the stated in the legislation, statutes and regulations to which the alternative dispute resolution entities are bound, it is consider competent the consumer alternative dispute resolution entity of the location of the signing of the contract for the purchase and sale of the good or the provision of services or, alternatively, the alternative resolution entity with specialized competence, if one exists for the sector in question.

If there is no alternative dispute resolution entity with competence at the place where the contract was signed or the existing one(s) do not consider themselves competent due to its value, the consumer may resort to the National Center for Information and Arbitration of Consumer Disputes (Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo), located in Lisbon, with the following information:
